We are excited to share more great news from Royal Holloway's Department of English as Professor Ben Markowits and alumna Dr Sarah Perry each have a novel included in The Sunday Times '100 21st-century novels to love' list. Prof Markovits's novel, You Don't Have to Live Like This, and Dr Perry's novel, The Essex Serpent, have been chosen for the exclusive list, which you can explore in full here.

Both authors are Fellows of the Royal Society of Literature (FRSL) in honour of their literary talents. Professor Markovits is one of seven FRSLs currently on staff in the Department of English.

Congratulations, Prof Markovits and Dr Perry!
