On the 4th of November 2021, Dr. Alexis Artaud de La Ferrière will participate in a conference organised by the EHESS in Paris. The title of Dr. Artaud de La Ferrière's presentation is “Catholic women’s missions in indigenous worlds: colonisations and politics of assimilation”.

Dr. Alexis Artaud de La Ferrière’s paper will focus on the experiences of Catholic religious women in post-colonial Tunisia, interrogating how the “assimilation question” gained new meaning after national independence in 1956 as female congregations in the country evolved in their demographic composition, their social anchoring, and their theological orientation.
