  • Date20 September 2021

On Tuesday 14th September the mathematics department came together for a workshop on Engaging Students from Diverse Backgrounds.

2021 09 20 Teaching Workshop

The organisers Prof. Stefanie Gerke and Prof. Mark Wildon had originally planned to hold the workshop in May 2020 but moved it because of the pandemic. In the end the workshop was online but staff at RHUL met at the department and streamed the talks to enable in person discussions.

The speakers at the workshop were Lara Alcock (Loughborough), Berrie Cooper (Exeter), Matthew Inglis (Loughborough) and Maurice Chiodo (Cambridge). A detailed account  of the talk and impressions of Prof. Mark Wildon can be found on his blog. The talks sparked lively discussions and we can now incorporate new ideas into our curriculum and our teaching.

The workshop was supported by the LMS.
