Voice (Musical Theatre)
Charlie-Jade Jones is an accomplished singer, actress, educator, and writer. She graduated from the Postgraduate Musical Theatre Course at the Royal Academy of Music, where she also received a Licentiate in Singing Teaching for Musical Theatre, and is a current Master of Performance Science student at the Royal College of Music.
A woman of both stage and song, Charlie-Jade is noted for her warm, versatile vocals, and engaging storytelling. Her solo show, The Soprano Behind The Screen was featured on the BBC Radio 2 Show EP on Sunday and she is a regular on the cabaret and concert stage platform. She made her professional stage debut with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in a 50th Anniversary Celebration of Cole Porter at Cadogan Hall, one of London’s leading concert venues, and has since performed in the 10th Anniversary of Howard Goodall’s Love Story, and the Symphonic Premier of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s State Fair, both also at the Cadogan Hall. Most recently, Charlie-Jade played Gertie Phorylles in the European Premier of Marc Blitzstein’s No For An Answer at the Arcola Theatre and additionally in musical theatre, played Iola Stover in the immersive 5* revival of Jason Robert Brown’s Parade at Frogmore Papermill, and was a soprano and soloist for the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. Her cabaret performances include two seasons with The Fingask Follies, Isn’t He Something (the songs of Stephen Sondheim), and Other People’s Stories (the songs of Michel Legrand). Charlie-Jade’s work in the studio includes session vocals for Silva Screen Records on their album The Definitive Musicals & Movie Songs Collection, recorded at Angel Studios, for Arts Orchestral Ltd at Abbey Road Studios, and for her debut studio album Remember which was recorded at Cowshed Studios.
Charlie-Jade is a Champion for the charity Music For Dementia and sings regularly for outreach and education projects. She is an artist and facilitator for Opera Holland Park Inspire, where she was recently a soloist for Age UK’s Valentines Gala Concert, and works with the Royal College of Music Sparks programme. Charlie-Jade is a singing technique teacher at Mountview and Laine Theatre Arts, where she teaches students on BA Musical Theatre and BA Actor Musician courses. Her research in performance science is in the areas of performance psychology and wellbeing.
