I have specialist knowledge relating to nineteenth-century Irish immigration in England, which formed the basis of my PhD. My research interests have remained in Irish diasporic history in the textile-producing regions of northern England, broadly defined and located principally in the second half of the nineteenth and opening decades of the twentieth centuries.
